TÜV NORD Scandinavia MNB (formerly RISE MNB)

Updated August 12, 2026

Status update (12 August 2026): TÜV NORD Scandinavia Medical Notified Body AB, formerly RISE Medical Notified Body AB, entered bankruptcy proceedings on 22 July 2026. It is therefore unlikely to be accepting new customers right now. Existing customers and applicants should confirm the status of their certificates, applications and deadlines with the Swedish Medical Products Agency or the bankruptcy administrator.

This was Sweden’s MDR notified body NB 3033. It operated as RISE MNB until TÜV NORD GROUP acquired it in February 2026 and renamed it TÜV NORD Scandinavia MNB.

As checked on 12 August 2026, the European Commission’s NANDO entry still appeared active. Because that listing may lag the more recent company status, manufacturers should not rely on it as evidence that the body is currently operating or taking applications. Read our bankruptcy article for the available background and likely implications for customers.

Who is affected? Manufacturers whose CE mark or certificate identifies NB 3033. Other TÜV NORD notified bodies are separate legal entities and are not affected by this bankruptcy, including TÜV NORD CERT (NB 0044) and TÜV NORD Polska (NB 2274).
